Many of us have the idea that jewellery photography in the shoot is difficult and time-consuming. This is a common misconception and many people think that it takes years of training to get right. While this may be true for some of the more advanced photographers, it certainly isn’t the case when it comes to most of us. In fact, most of the work we do can be done on the spur of the moment with very little or no training at all!
If you want to take your photography to the next level then the first thing you need to do is get more training.
The best idea is to find a jewellery studio that offers this service. There are several different types of jewellery master teachers out there, so don’t worry too much about finding the perfect one. Just find one that has a good reputation and that you feel comfortable with – you will soon be making lots of contacts and doing lots of shoots!
When you do feel that you are ready to start applying your techniques then it is time to brainstorm as to what you would like to photograph jewellery photography in the shoot. Think about the theme of the jewellery that you are about to shoot. Is there an aspect of the piece that you would like to highlight? Perhaps, a particular colour or type of stone. Maybe you want to take a photograph from an unusual angle.
Once you have thought of some ideas, it is time to start planning your shooting schedule. If you are just starting out with your jewellery photography then you may not have time to invest in lots of really good equipment. That’s why it’s important to set yourself a budget early on. You will also want to set yourself a time limit. For example, say that you want to get five photographs in a week.
The best way to ensure that you are able to meet your quota is by prioritising individual jewellery pieces.
That may mean setting yourself a budget for each item that you want to photograph jewellery photography in shoot Then you can choose your angles and take the required pictures.

Having a platform where you can display your work will make it easier to attract the attention of people who may be interested in buying your work.
